Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist currently competing in the flyweight division of the UFC. She is also the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion and co- UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sports journey by becoming a Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and defeated Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimity. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 followed by a medal of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal with gold in 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia was a professional who started her professional journey in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and 2016 the International Lion Fight Lightweight championships. In 2016, the WMC World Championships were also held in 2016 and she won the 2016 IFMA Muay Thai World Champion. Antonina fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas last at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Shevchenko made her professional MMA record in 2002 at KFK's Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won this fight via TKO after round two and her subsequent 2 matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to focus on her kickboxing, and she made her comeback in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa in an unanimous decision. She then went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. The league was dissolved in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina demonstrated her power of striking by tying Nievera with knees. After this win, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina made her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi in an undisputed split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from losing and defeated Lucie Pudddilova on UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. The bout earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her next 3-fights beating Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Then, Antonina fell to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
